Steps Open the control panel from the Start menu or from My computer. Open the System button, when using the classic layout, which can be set from the left menu bar. Click on the Hardware tab. Open the Device Manager. Find your USB drivers by clicking on the drop menu called UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS. If you cannot find any Enhanced Host Controllers, you will need to uninstall the USB drivers that are reading as 1.1. Right click the drivers you want to uninstall. Click Uninstall. Accept the warning, if you feel it is necessary. The driver will uninstall. Turn off your computer and unplug it from the outlet for a few moments. Plug the PC back in and place USB devices back in all the ports. Boot the computer/ On boot and login, Windows should automatically find all plug-and-play devices, plus USB ports, and read them at 2.0 speed. Test by transferring files to a memory key from each port, to test them all. Check the Device Manager again to see if Enhanced Host controllers are activated. Warnings IMPORTANT! Before proceeding, make sure all unnecessary USB peripherals are removed to avoid corruption of data, mouse and keyboard should be fine to stay in.
